This Privacy Policy explains how OneLabs, LLC (“MoldCostGuide,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), which operates moldcostguide.com (the “Site”), collects, uses, and shares information when you visit the Site or use our services. We are a data publisher: we publish modeled, market-level mold-remediation cost estimates and, when you ask us to, help connect you with independent local service providers.
Information we collect
Information you provide. When you contact us, request an estimate, or ask to be connected with a provider, you may give us your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code or address, and details about your property or project. You choose what to share; some features may not work without certain information.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we automatically collect technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the referring page, and the dates and times of your visits — through cookies and similar technologies.
Categories of personal information
In the past 12 months we may have collected the following categories of personal information, as defined by California law:
- Identifiers — name, email address, phone number, postal address or ZIP code, and IP address.
- Commercial information — details of the service you request or the provider you ask to be connected with.
- Internet or network activity — pages viewed, referring pages, and interactions with the Site.
- Approximate geolocation — general location derived from your ZIP code or IP address (not precise geolocation).
We collect this information directly from you and automatically through your use of the Site. We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as government identifiers, financial account numbers, or precise geolocation.
How we use information
- To respond to your requests and, when you ask, to connect you with local service providers;
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our cost models;
- To measure performance and understand how visitors use the Site;
- To protect the security and integrity of the Site and prevent misuse;
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
Cookies, analytics, and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site working and to understand usage. We use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to measure traffic and performance; Google may set cookies and process your IP address and usage data as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, and you can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the Site works.
How we share information
With providers you ask to be connected to. If you request a quote or ask to be contacted, we share the information you provide with one or more independent local providers so they can respond. Those providers are separate businesses and handle your information under their own privacy practices.
With our service vendors. We use third-party companies to host the Site, deliver email, and provide analytics and similar operational services. They process information on our behalf and are contractually expected to protect it.
For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or MoldCostGuide.
In a business transfer. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
“Sales” and “sharing” under California law
We do not exchange your personal information for money. However, because we may disclose the contact details you submit to independent providers who pay us a referral fee, this disclosure may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and similar state laws. If you are a California resident, you may opt out — see “Your privacy rights” below, or use our contact page to submit a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” request. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Data retention
We keep information for as long as needed to provide our services, fulfill the purposes in this policy, and comply with legal obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Know / access — request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you;
- Delete — request that we delete personal information we collected from you;
- Correct — request that we correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out — opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information;
- Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
To make a request, use our contact page. We will verify your request using the information we hold and respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require proof of authorization. Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights and can contact us the same way.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to these signals, the Site does not currently respond to them.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
The Site is operated in the United States and intended for US users. If you access it from elsewhere, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law; your information will be processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
