How long the work takes

Drain and haul the old tank, set the new one, reconnect water, gas and venting, fill, purge air, light and test. The high end covers basement stairs, tight closets, and bringing venting, a drain pan, expansion tank or seismic strapping up to current code — which a permit inspection will require whether or not the quote mentioned it.
